Shared Comfort



"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble, with the comfort we ourselves have received from God." 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 

Loss of a loved one. Cancer. Your kids grow up and move out. Job loss. Marital difficulties. You name it.

Whether it's your wound or someone's you love, God won't waste it. He'll work in it to reveal Himself. To show that He can be trusted... that He is faithful and loving. He is there to comfort us. It's through our wounds we learn to love more deeply and empathize more carefully.

God comforts us so that "we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God." What a glorious picture of the body of believers, lifting one another up in difficult times! When facing life’s trials, trust that God is looking out for you... empathizing with you... loving you... and holding you in His arms. Then take the compassion He shows you and play it forward to those suffering around you.
